B2B Edition Company Account Hierarchy

Match your business buyers’ complexity

No two B2B relationships are the same, and this is especially true for clients with a complex business structure. While some businesses can manage their interactions with your storefront from a single Buyer Portal, other businesses may have more advanced needs, such as:

  • Local chain stores with multiple locations

  • Individual franchises that report to a franchisor

  • Global corporations with regional warehouses and retail stores

With Account Hierarchy, you can compartmentalize data in up to five layers of branched Company accounts, allowing users in the upper levels of the hierarchy to view and manage information across all child Companies. Each business’s hierarchy is flexible, meaning that each Company can have independent settings like customer group assignments and available payment methods, and you can reorganize Companies in the hierarchy at any time.

Account Hierarchy also adds a new advance permission level: Company and Subsidiaries to support business buyers who require greater control over their Company accounts. This unlocks the ability to support different teams across a complex business, such as regional procurement managers who make purchases and request sales quotes within each subsidiary account, or accounts payable managers who process and pay aggregated invoices across all accounts.

What is in this release?

Manage Company Hierarchy in the B2B Edition Control Panel

Easily set up hierarchical relationships between companies in a parent-child structure to support complex business models, with up to five levels of depth. Each company can operate independently or as a subsidiary, region, or location, with its own:

  • Account-specific rules: Product visibility, tax exemptions, price lists, payment terms, and more.

  • Shared resources: Access orders, invoices, quotes, shopping lists, and more across the hierarchy.

Manage Advanced Buyer Permissions in the B2B Edition Control Panel

Enhance procurement efficiency for company buyers with a new advance permission level: Company and Subsidiaries. To allow parent company buyers to access child account resources, their company user roles must be configured with the necessary permissions at the advanced level.

Enable Aggregated Views for Orders and Invoices in the Buyer Portal

Empower parent company users with greater visibility and control with

  • Centralized access to manage Orders and Invoices across all child accounts in one place

  • Perform bulk actions, such as paying open invoices across multiple child accounts in a single transaction for greater efficiency.

Account Switching Capability in the Buyer Portal

  • Account Switching for Overarching Management

    • Easily switch to a specific child account to perform targeted actions, such as placing orders, requesting quotes, or creating shopping lists.

    • All actions are governed by company user role permissions, ensuring secure and appropriate access to child accounts.
