Company User Extra Fields Management is Now Available on Buyer Portal!

What’s changed?

You will be able to add extra fields for company user from Settings > Extra Fields in the B2B Edition Control Panel (App). These extra fields will be added to company users in the B2B Edition Control Panel(App), as well as in the Account settings for Buyer Portal enabled storefronts.

You can create up to 10 additional fields for the company user area The following field types are supported:

  • Text Field — creates a simple text field, such as User ERP ID. Can specify a default value, as well as maximum allowed characters

  • Multiline Text Field — creates a text field for inputting multiple lines of data. Can specify a default value, as well as maximum number of rows

  • Numbers Only — is similar to a regular text field, but validates for numbers only. You can specify the maximum value that can be entered

  • Drop Down — presents a drop-down list of options to select from

Each field type has the following settings:

  • Is Required — when checked, the B2B Edition Control Panel user or Buyer Portal users must fill in this field

  • Is Unique — when checked, the information entered in the field cannot match existing data, such as User ERP ID

  • Visible On Storefront — when checked, the field and its values can be viewed by company users from the storefront Buyer Portal. If left unchecked, the information is still visible in its corresponding area of the B2B Edition Control Panel(App)

Important Things to Know

  • Extra Fields Management for Company User currently only available for Buyer Portal enabled stores

  • B2B Edition company user extra fields are added alongside any customer fields configured in Settings › Account sign up forms in the BigCommerce control panel

Modify Company User Email in B2B Edition Control Panel (App)

What’s changed?

You will be able to update company user’s email address within B2B Edition control panel fromCompanies > Company Detail > Company User(s). The email address change will automatically apply to the corresponding BigCommerce Customer. This allows your customer service representatives managing company account and company user information from a centralized place within the Control Panel.
