Company Buyer Roles & Permissions Management for Buyer Portal
What’s new in this release?
Previously, there were only three predefined company user roles(Admin, Senior Buyer, and Junior Buyer) available for B2B company users. With this release, brands can bespoke company buyer roles through the B2B Edition Control Panel and APIs. These custom roles can then be assigned to company users to control actions and permission levels a buyer has within the Buyer Portal.
Company Roles APIs — New API endpoints that allow developers to create and manage company roles.
Company Users UI — Allows brands to view a centralized list of B2B buyers along with their company and role assignments
Company Roles Management UI within B2B Edition Control Panel —
Allows brands to view all company roles (predefined and custom configured)
Enables brands to create custom buyer roles with selected permissions and permission level (user, user team).
Brands can assign custom buyer roles to company buyers on behalf of the company within the B2B Edition Control Panel.
Within the Buyer Portal, Company Admins (or buyers with assigned permissions) can assign these new custom buyer roles to buyers within the same company through the User Management section of the storefront Buyer Portal.
Company Permissions APIs — New API endpointsthat allow developers to create and manage company permissions. This enables brands to create new company permissions to support their custom-developed shopping experiences under centralized buyer permission control.
To access the Company users and roles settings, you must be using B2B Edition’s Buyer Portal experience. Note that in this initial release, your buyers cannot create their own custom roles — you must create them on the buyer’s behalf using B2B Edition Control Panel.
